October 3,2008 ATTN: Mr. Robby Bowles, Executive Director
Dear Mr. Bowles: I wanted you to know that I truly appreciated the excellent
help I recently received at the Carriage Hills facility while undergoing rehabilitation
following hip replacement surgery at ARMC. The word “compassionate” may best
describe the care rendered by the Carriage Hills staff. Everyone that I had contact
with was friendly, and always willing to help meet my needs.
My heartfelt thanks go to you, to Rachel, Ellen, Cheryl, Kathrine, Joyce, Ann
Marie, to Susie, Laurie, and all the wound care nurses, to PT’s (Physical “Terrorists”)
Jennifer, Adam, Barbara, Ashley, Leanna, and to OT’s Angela, Nancy and Sandy,
and to all those whose names I never knew (or may have forgotten in a Senior Moment)
who helped me. In particular the PT’s and OT’s created a very warm and happy
atmosphere that made therapy almost a pleasant experience. I would not hesitate
to recommend Carriage Hills to anyone. You’re a wonderful group. Sincerely,
Harry Lee
August 24, 2008 Dear Robby, Thank you, thank you. You and your employees at
Carriage Hills Living Center deserve many compliments. During my eight days in
rehab. there I was impressed with everyone I contacted. They were professional,
caring, and friendly. It is difficult to list specific names of outstanding employees;
there were so many. I felt Barbara and Myong Conner were very efficient nurses.
Heather, Jennifer, and Tabatha were excellent in PT and OT. Nancy quickly solved
a minor problem with dismissal and Adam certainly added humor to the PT Department
each day. Compliments to your entire staff and facility. Thank you. Sincerely,
Betty Thorngate
August 5, 2008 Dear Robby: My wife and I want you and your staff to know how
very much all of the tender loving care I received while a patient of your center
was appreciated. It didn’t take long to realize that I was in a very special
place with exceptional care. Everyone was especially caring-the nurses: Joyce,
Myong, Joy, Kelly and Sandra; the C.N.A.’s Kathy, Pat, Willie Jean, Bernestine,
Teresa, Melanie, Tiffany, LaTravia and Ellen; the therapists: Jennifer, Ashley,
Adam, Sandy, Nancy, Angelina, Leanna and Jocleyn the PT aide; the front office:Debbie,
Diane, Marcelle and Susie, R.N. Hope we have remembered everyone, but hope for
forgiveness if not as everyone was very caring and greatly aided in my “coming
back” from my fall. It is never easy being away from home during an illness,
but you and your entire staff made us so cared for that it was not a problem. Many
thanks to each and everyone there and know that we hold you all in our hearts. Sincerely, Con
J Fecher, Jr., D.D.S.
August 5, 2008 Dear Robby, Cherry is a great asset and know LaTraiva will be
terrific as her assistant. In addition, Tanya and her taltented kitchen staff
prepare delicious, healing meals which are enjoyed in a lovely dining room. Thanks
for everything! Sincerely, Diane Fecher
Carriage Hills Team, With Special thanks to all of you: “to know you is to know people who are kind,
considerate, and thoughtful. To know you is to be grateful for the special things
you do.” For everything you’ve done…for being the special people that you are…thank you
so very much. Special thanks to Delores Bush, Myong Connor and last but not least Diane Givens. Thank you all again, Jan Olschon and Rita Ferens

July 30, 2008 - Dear Mr. Bowles, Thank you for my delightful experience at “summer
camp”. I call it “summer camp” because of the schedule and my few responsibilities
except to get well. I had three meals a day (and very good ones, I might add)
exercise and “games” in the mornings, a nap after lunch and more exercise. Visits
from friends and other residents were enjoyed in the afternoon and sometimes evening
hours. I almost hated to go home and back to everyday life. The facility is
lovely and the staff is exemplary. Every need was quickly met. The nursing staff
is outstanding….it isn’t easy to track down a person when it’s pill time. I especially
want to mention Kelley who is a part-timer and Christina, the wound care specialist.
Both ladies are caring and knowledgeable nurses. I also want to mention the PT
and OT staff. You must have the best rehab personnel in the city! I am sorry
that you don’t have more room for therapy but the staff does wonders with the
space they have. Actually, the close quarters made it easier to get to know the
other residents. Two other staff must be lauded for going “above and beyond”
in so many ways. I am sorry that I do not have their last names. Sheena is the
morning tech on duty in the 200 hall. She is quick to answer every call and her
attitude is always cheerful. The other is April who works at night in the same
hall. These two ladies rise above the rest.

July 5, 2008 - Dear Robby, The many concerns for Bill and me were more than
I could imagine. You all became like family to us. I certainly can’t let this
opportunity go by without telling you how much we appreciate Carriage Hills, you
and your lovely staff. I especially want to thank Cherry for all her help with
getting Bill involved in the many activities, including taking us to participate
in the Memorial Day parade down town, and driving us to his doctor’s appointment.
You are really blessed to have so many caring employees, ie…Sandra, Kathy, Myong,
Rebecca, LaTravia, Tiffiany, Willie and Bernestien always made the dining room enjoyable and fun. Your “P.T.” people were great and always
managed to make the work-outs entertaining. Its wonderful having your facility
here in Aiken- we are fourtunate! Thank you again for all the care and concerns
from everyone. Fondly, Peggy Piesch
May 20, 2008 Dear. Mr. Bowles, My name is Diane Longmire and I was a patient
in your Rehab. Facility following serious back surgery from the evening of March
31 till my discharge the morning of April 10
th. I would like to express my appreciation for both the excellent physical rehabilitation
as well as the capable and compassionate nursing care I received during my stay.
So many of your employees helped to make my time at your facility productive,
restful and comfortable. The Director of Patient Services, Marcelle Brown, was
friendly and most accommodating. Your Physical Therapists were all knowledgeable,
caring, and continually inspired me to reach new levels. Jennifer, the head of
Physical Therapy, was most knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. The other
PT’s I worked with Adam, Leanna, and Barbara were pleasant and encouraging. The
OT’s Tabitha and Sandy were friendly, competent and considerate. Even the OT
and PT aide, Karen was most kind and accommodating. I received good quality nursing
care during my stay. The Wound Care Nurse, Christina Herron was both gentle and
comforting and saved me a long and painful ride to Augusta by removing the surgical
staples on my back. Christina went out of her way to make this possible for it
required contacting my surgeon’s office to get clearance. The other nurses whom
I would like to mention are Mary, Claudia, Joy, and Joyce Burnett. The quality
of your nursing staff extends also to your Certified Nurses Assistants. They,
too are very friendly and considerate. April Perryman was most attentive and responsive.
Also Sheena Patterson, Pat Johnson, Taquilla Williams and Ellen took care of
all my personal needs from bathing to going out of their way to accommodate some
special dietary requests. Back surgery is very painful with a long extended
recovery. All of these fine people immeasurably helped me during this most difficult
time. It is most gratifying to knkow that we have such a high quality Nursing
Rehab facility in our city. Thank you for the services, which you and your employees
so competently provide. Gratefully yours, Diane C. Longmire
Thank you Carriage Hills, I won’t name names I just might miss one that would
be unfortunate! It all started with a very sick husband and Mrs. Givens and ended
with Mrs. Brown. In between lots of love, caring and assurance. Wonderful skin
care, therapy, the list just goes on. For me hugs and reassurances when I needed
it most. Everyone of you will be in my prayers forever. Thank you one and all
and God Bless. Sincerely, Rita Markowitz
Mr. Bowles, Thank you for the delightful experience of going fishing with the
facility family again. A special thanks to Mrs. Grant for all of the transportation.
Also, thanks to Mrs. Council for the assistance on the bus, with fishing and for
all of her tender care. My love and best wishes to all! Warmly, Betty Galardi
To all the employees at Carriage Hills: This card is meant for you. It’s a
card of praise for all that you did for me while I was a patient there. The nurses
were so efficient and kind the technicians were alert and knew what to do. They
were also very kind. The therapy department is the best in this area. I have
talked to several people and told them if they ever need therapy to consider Carriage
Hills. I have to mention Cherry Grant, Activities Director and her assistant
Kathy. They were just great! Cherry is like a ray of sunshine around the facility.
I was quite impressed! Thanks everyone! Sincerely, Louise McCarthy

 Dear Carriage Hills Staff,
Words can’t express our gratefulness for the loving care you gave our Mom. You
indeed have created a special community for elders and I have learned so much

Thank you again four you tender, loving care. Thank you for caring for Dad during

Warren. He has been at Carriage Hills many times and this time has been by far
his most pleasant stay, he commented ‘it has been like a vacation’… Let me not
forget the nurses, the C.N.A.’s, the dining room staff all were wonderful…the
biggest improvement since Warren’s last stay is the dining room service above
all the breakfast bar and the salad bar…so many choices. Thanks to all from the
bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Elaine and Warren Long”

I was overhearing a phone conversation my wife was having with her older brother
the first few days at carriage hills. This place is MARVELOUS. Yes, you have
proven to us that it is just that. From Nurses to Techs on down, the care was
always so giving. We were especially pleased with therapy. Their training &
caring attitude was so professional. If you could have seen the smile on my wife's
face when they arrived from an Augusta trip. I was there to meet the bus, looking
to see her come down a lift in a wheel chair. No instead she walked down the
stairs in the bus just to show me and the rest of us How Proud she was doing such
a task (A THING WE TAKE FOR GRANTED). Yes, I was greatly impressed how much you
folks did with her care back to a healthy person.
If I was asked where I'd take my love one for care, therapy and nursing,
it would be here at CARRIAGE HILLS.
Thanks for such loving care,
W.J. (Buddy) Murray
To All the Staff of Carriage Hills Living Center,
When Daddy had a stroke, the Doctor's gave us very little hope of him surviving.
Through his determination he did survive, but was paralyzed down the right side. He
would forever be confined to a bed and wheelchair. Allowing him to do therapy,
allowed him to maintain that ray of hope that some day he would walk again. "This
is such a nice place" he would say. The brightest moment of his stay at your
facility was the day he received a name tag which said Carriage Hills Living Center,
Sammie Huff, Official Greeter. He was so proud of that name tag. Every day after
receiving it, when he was able to be up and around, he wore that name tag on his
shirt, and sat at the front doors greeting people as they came and went This
made him feel as if he was a working part of the Carriage Hills family, and this
gave his life more meaning. It takes a very special class of people to do what
you do. Each and everyone of you are appreciated more than you will ever know.
God bless and keep you safe. Thanks to All of You.
